so long, farewell...

In approximately 5 hours, I shall be on a flight to Melbourne and then I'll be hitting Sydney and Los Angeles before firmly planting myself in Seattle for the next 4 weeks.

I'm also lucky enough to be headed for Hawaii for 10 nights and given the slight disaster that was my previous 2-night stay, I'm looking forward to the opportunity of creating new memories!

If summer boredom has hit any of you as hard as it has hit me, I urge you to turn to these two shows for premium entertainment:

1. Little Britain
Matt Lucas and David Walliams are pure genius!! If you haven't cottoned on to this brilliant British skit show, do it now and do it fast! You can buy the DVD sets for about AUD $30 (and they sell well on eBay if you decide you're one of those and don't like it) or you can hire it... whatever you do, just watch it! Season 2 in particular is just gold. See the official site for video clips and information about the characters. Favourite part: I have several faourite characters but at this moment, Harvey takes the cake. He's a mid-twenties man still breastfeeding from his mother and occasionally his grandmother -- "Bitty...". Also hilarious is Bubbles DeVere (fat suit, anyone?) and Marjorie, who runs the Fat Fighters meetings -- "Okay, I've gotta go, I have my fatties here...". Daffyd is also a classic -- he's an "out gay man" with an outrageous dress sense and a deluded determination to be the only gay in the village.

2. Chappelle's Show
A tad more controversial, this is another brilliant skit show starring the daring Dave Chappelle. You can catch it at least once a day on Comedy Central (Foxtel) or you can view big clips here. Favourite bit: Dave as Samuel L. Jackson promoting the new "Samuel Jackson" beer in season 2 -- "NO I CAN'T STOP YELLING, COS THAT'S HOW I TALK!" and the Niggar Family (a white family with the last name 'Niggar').

Enjoy. And for those few that actually take my advice, please drop me a line and let me know what you did and didn't like.

Au revoir, until I settle down in Seattle.

xx

Little Britain is brilliant! I caught an episode a few weeks ago and it had me in stitches from laughing so hard.
Anyways I hope you enjoy your trip. Take care!
