i'm back!

So, the summer boredom has driven me back into the world of blogging... I've had a few variations of blogs and websites in the past, mostly in 2004 when I had barrels of time to spend on it.

You may remember me from such defunct blogs as Heifer No More, Games That Play Us and my melo [end Troy McClure voice]. Or not. Either way, here's a short summary of my life as it stands on January 8th, 2006:

I've made the move from my home town of Adelaide, South Australia to Melbourne, Victoria. The official reason is for my university degree that is now 1 year in (double of Law/International Relations at La Trobe University) but really it was a combination of factors that I find difficult to shove into a sentence. Moving in to Glenn College on campus was possibly one of my best moves in my short life (moving interstate and living in college is definitely not as common as it is in the US, where it is practically a given)! I am having an absolute ball and I'm basking in the knowledge that these will probably be the best years of my life.

During my first year in Melbourne I refused to spend all of my time hidden away in the suburb of Bundoora, so I went out and got myself two jobs in the city: as part of the retail staff at Telstra Doma for footy matches (that's real football: AFL) and my favourite, as a Starbucks barista in a smaller CBD store with plenty of regulars to keep me entertained.

I have less than a week left in Adelaide (I've returned for the summer) and then I'm off to Seattle, USA for 4 weeks to spend some time with my mum, stepdad and baby sister (6 years old in May). Mum and I are also going to spend 10 nights here in beautiful Hawaii and I can't wait to add memories to my short two-night stay in Honolulu back in January 2004.

Keeping it short(ish) and sharp,

s.
